Chef Joon Hyun Ryu

“I love what I do and that’s not going to change.”

Chef Joon (Joon Hyun) Ryu collects memories that piece his world together, and his experienced are shared on a plate. Born and raised in New York, he wishes to bring some type of nostalgia through his food to Restaurant Row. After experimenting with more than dozens of cuisines, his 15 years of experience now anchors in a Korean-American exploration of the world. 

 

As a culinary visionary, Chef Joon thrives when delivering happiness on a plate, whether that's with a barbecue in his backyard or as an Executive Chef & Owner. 

 

With Gurumé, Chef Joon hopes to offer an escape for visitors on cloudy days to block out the chaos in their lives, have a perfect bite, and momentarily forget about their troubles.
